Super Sons #16 is an issue of the series Super Sons (Volume 1) with a cover date of July, 2018. It was published on May 23, 2018.
Synopsis for "End of Innocence, Part Two"
Two children listen to an old man read from a book titled "Adventures of the Super Sons"; he seems to have trailed off with the events of the previous issue. He resumes describing how Kid Amazo, having captured the Justice League, tried to capture Superboy to serve as a host and a filter for their absorbed power. As Robin and Cyborg approach the oil rig, Superboy tries unsuccessfully to free his unconscious father. Kid Amazo seizes him with robotic tentacles, but Robin and Cyborg arrive in time to save him.
While Cyborg distracts the villain, Damian tries to hack into his system. He eventually realizes this won't work, so he devises a different plan: allow Kid Amazo to take Cyborg as its host. Cyborg is not on board with this, but Robin distracts him at a crucial moment, allowing Kid Amazo to triumph. While Kid Amazo assimilates him, Jon and Damian retrieve Batman's glove and Superman's cape from their unconscious bodies.
Superboy uses the cape to do his best matador impression against the charging Amazo-Cyborg, wrapping it around his enemy's head. The villain tears through it easily, but in the momentary distraction this provides, the Super Sons enact Batman's anti-Cyborg contingency, shooting a cable out of the glove and applying it to Cyborg's head. It shocks him, giving him a minor stroke, forcing his electronic components to reboot, and shutting down the Amazo Armor for long enough that Jon can pull it off of him.
The captured Justice Leaguers wake up, commending the Super Sons for their performance. Superman and Batman promise to rebuild their destroyed HQ, and Bruce acknowledges that Damian might be ready to replace him at some point in the future.
Back in the frame story, the children insist on hearing more about the Super Sons. The old man reluctantly agrees, in the process implying that they are the children of the Super Sons (an implication bolstered by the facts that the boy looks a lot like Damian and the girl is floating a foot off the ground). He takes a book titled "Adventures of the Super Sons, Vol 2" off the shelf and ominously foreshadows their subsequent exploits.
