Synopsis for "Planet of the Capes, Part 1: Teen Beat"

In Metropolis, Jon prepares for his first night on patrol with Damian. He is somewhat put off by Damian's insistence that he is training Jon and by his brutal approach to dealing with jaywalkers, but overall the boys have a fun night stopping petty crime and helping people around the neighborhood.

As they stop to rest atop a building, Damian mentions that he's been trying to reach the Teen Titans, and Jon pets a nearby bright green cat, which to his surprise starts talking to him and turns into a bright green teenage boy. Starfire, Raven, and Aqualad arrive on the rooftop shortly afterward. They leave shortly afterward to chase down an energy disruption which Raven sensed. Starfire invites Jon to accompany them, but before he can accept, Damian vetoes this, saying that this is Titans business and Jon is not yet a teenager.

Jon makes it home just before his curfew to find his father absent on Justice League business and his mother about to leave to cover breaking news about the arrest of a state senator for espionage. Meanwhile, the Titans reach the source of the energy surge and are ambushed by Atom-Master, Chun Yull, and Time Commander. The young heroes quickly find themselves outmatched, but Time Commander tells Damian that he has no intention of killing any of them yet: he wants them to come back with more formidable allies for his team to defeat.

Jon, having fallen asleep on the couch, awakens to the sound of Damian calling him from the balcony. The unconscious Titans are there with him, and Damian himself has been turned into an old man by Time Commander in order to "send a message."
