Superboy's Legion #2 is an issue of the series Superboy's Legion (Volume 1) with a cover date of May, 2001.
Synopsis for "Superboy's Legion"
After Colossal Boy's death and Cosmic Boy's dismemberment at the hands of the Fatal Five and Ultra Boy striking Superboy, some of the Legionnaires left to confront their enemy earlier and Lois updated Brande on the situation. While Luthor, who wanted to locate Colu, held Brainiac 5 prisoner, the latter's mind was able to access cyberspace and learned of his involvement in massacring the Justice League during the Third World War.
Lightning Lad, Light Lass, and Sensor attempted to join the Legion, although Superboy was still distraught from their defeat against the Fatal Five before Star Boy talked him into rescuing Brainiac 5 and defeating their enemy only because he believed that it was right. As Cosmic Boy was given a new prosthetic arm, he, Brande, Saturn Girl, Karate Kid, and Ferro Lad were all arrested by the Science Police after Commissioner Leeto had declared a state of martial law. A group led by Ultra Boy and consisting of Sun Boy, Shadow Lass, Invisible Kid, Element Lad, Shrinking Violet, and Bouncing Boy reached Colu, where they had a rematch with the Fatal Five, while Leeto blamed Brande and the Legion for the malfunction of the Universo computer.
Superboy, Tinya, Reep, Lightning Lad, Light Lass, and Sensor joined the rest of the Legion in fighting the Fatal Five, while Saturn Girl used her powers to discover Lex Luthor's mind inside of Universo. Emerald Empress went to Earth to stop her, but she was defeated by Karate Kid and Ferro Lad, Mano was defeated by Phantom Girl, Persuader was defeated by Reep, Validus was defeated by Sun Boy, and Tharok was defeated by Light Lass and Shrinking Violet before the Legion helped Superboy defeat Luthor, who used the innards of his own ship to create his own version of Vril Dox, by flying him away from Colu.
Afterwards, the Science Police was discredited and replaced by the United Planets, Superboy's Legion was given their own clubhouse before their numbers rapidly grew, before their name was changed to the Legion of Super-Heroes, and before Superboy relinquished leadership to Ultra Boy and started dating Lois Olsen.
