Superboy/Risk: Double Shot #1 is a one-shot with a cover date of February, 1998. It was published on December 10, 1997.
Synopsis for "Bad Times at Montridge High"
At the behest of General Bronsteen of NORAD and Judith Masters, Principal of Montridge High School, Superboy agrees to go undercover to ferret out the identity of the boy who broke into, and subsequently escaped from NORAD. Donning the unflattering alias of Carl Krummett, Superboy enlists at Montridge as a transfer student. While deliberately acting like a nerd, he finally comes across Cody Driscoll, aka, the Teen Titan known as Risk. It was Cody who was responsible for breaking into NORAD. Superboy sheds his Carl Krummett identity and the two begin fighting. Although Superboy is many times stronger than Risk, the two appear to be evenly matched. The fight comes to an end when Superboy threatens to destroy Cody's "Riskmobile". Cody ultimately decides to turn himself in. He leaves the Ferrari to his mom so that she can sell it.

- This issue is part of the 1998 "Double Shot" one-shot specials, which pairs a mainstream DC Comics super-hero with a member of the second iteration of the Teen Titans.
- Superboy appeared last in Superboy (Volume 4) #47.
- Risk appeared last in Teen Titans (Volume 2) #16.
- The "Double-Shot" specials continue in Supergirl/Prysm: Double Shot #1.
- The Riskmobile appeared last in Teen Titans (Volume 2) #16.
- The appearance of Big City is unconfirmed in this issue, but a waste disposal dumpster on page 11 suggests that this might be Big City, former base of operations of Little Boy Blue and the Blue Boys.
