Synopsis for "Chapter 2"

The Cosmoteers attack Superboy, believing he is another bioweapon created by Dominator X. In space, Dominator X activates his final weapon- a giant, wormlike creature,. The worm bursts out of the ground and launches itself at the Dragoi civilians. Superboy yells at the Cosmoteers to get the people clear, but he quickly realizes they don't care about innocent bystanders and flies into the creature's mouth to hold its jaws open and stop it eating anyone. The Cosmoteers kill the creature despite his assertions that they just need to knock it out, and casually allow the giant corpse to fall towards the crowd below. Superboy stops the creature's body from crushing the Dragoi, and one of the Cosmoteers throws a power inhibitor collar on him, which shocks him unsconscious.

Conner wakes up in a cell on board the Cosmoteers' ship, the Ripper. Their leader, Travv, explains that they are clones created by Dominator X to be living weapons, but broke free of his control and since then have been freeing his other clones and experiments around the galaxy. Conner tells them that they can't keep using their current brutal methods and don't need to become monsters to stop a monster. He asks them to let him help them, but Travv refuses and tells him they are attacking Domintor X's flagship right at that moment.

The Cosmoteers break onto the ship, leaving Conner in the cell. Conner uses the cell's force field to burn off the collar and breaks out. Meanwhile on the ship, the Cosmoteers find only five clones and are attacked by another one of Dominator X's bioweapons, which rapidly regenerates from anything they do to it. Conner flies in and knocks the creature away, telling the Cosmoteers they need to listen to him if they want to survive. He guides them on how to knock the creature out, but they are then attacked by a Khund fleet which Dominator X sent after them. Travv smugly tells Superboy he bet's that he regrets his "no killing" rule now that they are in danger, but Superboy fires back that where he comes from, taking the easy way out and killing people is a sign of weakness.

They try to escape in the Ripper but they are caught in a crossfire, and don't have weapons or shields strong enough to stop the Khund warships. Conner climbs out onto the hull of the ship and uses his tactile telekinesis to create a force field around the ship.
