Synopsis for "The War Against Superboy!"

This story is reprinted from Superboy #82.

In revenge for Superboy's interference in his criminal pursuits, the General, a crime-boss with military modus operandi, first destroys Superboy's robots, then has his scientist aide The Brain create a Bizarro-Krypto to lure the real Krypto into space, then endangers Superboy with a Kryptonite deathtrap. Superboy manages to activate the surviving brain of a demolished robot enough for it to cannibalize itself a new body, after which it comes to his rescue and helps him defeat the General and the Brain.

Synopsis for "The Duel of the Superboys"

This story is reprinted from Adventure Comics #287.

On Krypton, before its destruction, juvenile delinquent Dev-Em plays many destructive pranks with his gang and gets in trouble repeatedly for bedevilling his next-door neighbor, Jor-El, and his family. But Dev heeds Jor-El's prophecy of destruction for Krypton, outfits an alien shelter to take himself and his family to safety while placing them all in suspended animation, and allows them to survive while drifting in space. Years later, in Superboy's time, the alien shelter lands on Earth, and Dev-Em is jolted out of suspended animation. He discovers Superboy's existence and learns the Boy of Steel is really Kal-El, son of Jor-El. Dev lures Superboy into a trap, projects him into the Phantom Zone, and prepares to impersonate him on Earth.

Synopsis for "Krypto's Arch-Enemy"

This story is reprinted from Superboy #92.

When Lex Luthor's dog Wolf accidentally jumps in front of Luthor's super-powers ray, the dog becomes imbued with Kryptonian-type super-powers. Luthor renames the dog Destructo, and orders him to battle and defame Krypto. Eventually the Dog of Steel prevails, Destructo is restored to normalcy, and Lex Luthor is returned to reform school.
