Superboy (Volume 2) #50 is an issue of the series Superboy (Volume 2) with a cover date of February, 1984.
Synopsis for "Dial 'V' For Villain"
When Nylor Truggs, a 30th Century criminal, steals the H-Dial from a museum and goes back in time to ally himself with 20th Century criminal Lex Luthor, the Legion of Super-Heroes joins Superboy to help stop him. Superboy finds a hole dug by (most likely) Truggs and goes down to apprehend him. When Superboy is knocked unconscious, Wildfire goes down to stop Truggs, instead. Superboy and Wildfire together stop Truggs, but he escapes as they discuss the location of the remaining legionnaires. When the two teams locate each other, they inform Superboy and Wildfire that Luthor and Truggs have teamed up. So, Superboy considers that they all need a secret base of operations. So, during a Kent barbecue, Krypto returns from outer-space romping and takes Superboy to Luthor's new lair. As all the Legionnaires raid Luthor's hideout, Krypto finds the source of the high-pitched signal that brought his attention. Luthor, under interrogation, informs the Legionnaires that Trugg has made off with the dial. When everyone finds Truggs, he has a team of super-powered villains to defend him. Superboy is able to knock out Truggs, leaving Krypto to guard him, whilst Superboy focuses on 'Mountain-Man'. As all of the villains are defeated, they transform back into their regular forms, - who happen to be Bash, Lana, Pete and Lisa. Truggs used the dial to transforms them! Everybody realises that the dial is broken, and Krypto returns with the half-eaten dial in his snout!
