Synopsis for "Fire and Ice"

Superboy gets back from his trip to the 30th Century, where he was given an honorary Legion Flight Ring for helping the Legion of Super-Heroes rescue Valor. As Superboy approaches the door of the Compound, Knockout comes tearing out and knocks him clear back onto the beach. She seems on top of the world, happy to be brawling with the Kid, and tells him how she'll be staying there. Superboy is thrilled — all the others are not. There is no time to argue, however, as snow begins to fall.

Killer Frost has arrived in Hawaii, her powers augmented by Neron. Superboy offers his Legion ring to Knockout, but she prefers that he carry her, so SB tosses it to Roxy Leech, who is worried that the snow will stop her from getting to take the police examination. Killer Frost marches straight into Honolulu, freezing everything that gets near her. Tana Moon theorizes that since Killer Frost absorbs heat and is drawn to it, she's heading for the Kilauea Caldera on the big island. Superboy and Knockout engage her, but it's tough since they can't even touch her without risking frostbite. Knockout tosses a car and Superboy whacks her with a telephone pole, but neither slows her down. SB manages to rupture a gas main beneath the street, and while Killer Frost is distracted by the fire, Knockout chucks a trailer of liquid oxygen on top of her. Knockout grabs SB and gives him a kiss, telling him how she's more alive now than she's been in a long time. There is no sign of Frost.

Afterwards, Superboy reassures Tana that she's the only girl for him, and Tana secretly plans on finding out the truth about Knockout. Back at the Compound, the fiery redhead gets a visit from Neron, offering her more power in exchange for her soul, but she outright rejects his offer. Roxy makes it in time to take the police exam — with the Legion ring on her finger.
