Synopsis for the 1st Story

Kara cannot deny the facts anymore: she is an alien. She flashes back to the time when her parents found her: her mother took her inside and fed her as her father put the pod in a safe place.

She can not wrap her head around the fact, though. Before she can come close to make sense of it all, she has to go back to school, where everything and everyone remind her of her departed friend.

Kara and Dolly don't make it to track training. Both girls need a break so they skip the rest of school. Dolly tries to get Kara open up about her powers, but Kara doesn't dare tell anything.

Back home Kara finds out that Coach Stone came over to check and make sure she was all right. Jeremiah -who is the kind of person who thinks his family business are his family business and no one else's- is visibly not thrilled. Kara briefly remembers seven years ago she pulled her maternal grandfather out of a burning building. Her maternal grandparents were scared of her, but her father said she was family, period. She knews her parents would do anything for her, but not everyone would accept her powers.

After Coach Stone leaves, Jeremiah points out that when she skips school, people notice and poke their noses where they don't belong; and neither she nor he want that, so she has to go to school. Kara agrees grudgingly.

Later, resting on her bedroom upstairs Kara finds her tracker bracelet is broken, and the battery inside tells LexCorp. At the midnight she hears again a voice repeating: "Save me". Kara gets dressed and takes off, following that voice's sound.

Kara tracks the voice's owner down in a bunker deep underground and finds "Coach" Stone experinmenting on a restrained person. Stone gets frightened when seeing her and fiddles with a dial. Kara's bracelet activates, surrounding her with a yellow glow and hurting her. Kara realizes her "coach" knew the whole time and was behind her malfunctioning powers.

Professor Stone reveals she is researching her abilities to find a renewable energy source. Kara accuses Stone from lying to her, and Stone replies she is a an alien life-form pretending to be human. Kara snaps and trashes the lab, making Stone run away.

Then Kara pays attention to the man imprisoned down there. He reveals his name is Tan-On and he is a Kryptonian... like her. He insists that they have to leave before Lexcorp sends an army in to deal with them. He asks what her name is. She answers it's Kara Zor-El. They are the first words she can remember speaking out loud and she instinctively knew that was her first given name.

Meanwhile Lexcorp has activated Alert Level 9 set in motion Procedure Code 777 to deal with their Kryptonian guinea pigs.

Tan-On repeats they must get far from there before it is too late. Kara wonders why she is agreeing to run together with a guy she doesn't know. She doesn't want to leave her family, but Tan-On replies they are not her family and her presence puts them at risk. And then he reveals Professor Stone's research was the cause of the earthquake.

Kara is full of doubts, but she agrees to go with him. But before she has go her home to get some clothes.

As she is away, Tan-On fries an innocent bystander and swears he will turn Earth to dust for his torture.

Kara heads back to Tan-On, still wondering whether running is the right thing to do or she is making her life's biggest mistake.
