Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the 8th Grade #3 is an issue of the series Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the 8th Grade (Volume 1) with a cover date of April, 2009.

Synopsis for the 1st Story

Linda is trying to stop Lena and Belinda from bickering when a meteor shower of what appears to be Red Kryptonite hits the school and grants the students superpowers.

Most of the new metahumans are conceited and mean-spirited, though, and enjoy bullying non-powered students, much to the furor of Lena, who hates super-powerful beings and considerates that her schoolmates' attitude and behavior validates her prejudice.

Lena -who has no powers- and Linda -who pretends to be powerless so that Lena doesn't feel hurt- are dumped into a special class for the "super heroically challenged", in where they are taught that powerless people are worthless and must embrace their "fate of mediocrity and fear" while they "witness the majesty of their betters" or become their insignificant pawns.

Linda needs to sneak out of there in order to save people, so that she pretends she has been seized by "some invisible superhero" and is being "carried away to some mysterious doom".

After saving everyone, she returns to her room and finds out that Lena has built a machine to remove meteorite-induced powers. At the same time, Belinda is using a chunk of red meteorite rock to give everyone their powers back. So their antics are endangering the whole town.

Linda decides to mix the red meteor's energy with Kryptonite's radiation as a way to grant herself new powers that hopefully allow her fix that mess. After several failed attempts, she gets time-travelling powers.

Linda travels back in time and stops the meteor from ever reaching Earth. Nonetheless, since she erased the timeline she came from, she fades from existence... but not before telling she needs to warn her younger counterpart about Principal Picklemeyer.
