Helpless to save his whole family, Zor-El sends his daughter Kara Zor-El to Earth. After spending several decades in suspended animation, Kara lands on Earth and meets her baby cousin Kal-El, now a grownup and the world's greatest hero.
As Kara struggles to adapt to her new home, she makes friends with a girl named Siobhan Smythe, meets new enemies and gets herself her own fortress, the Sanctuary of Solitude. After taking down Simon Tycho, the Worldkillers and the Cyborg Superman, she claims the "Supergirl" title and joins the Justice League.
