Supergirl (Volume 4) with a cover date of August, 2001.
Synopsis for "Down and Out in Kansas"
Kansas has been hit hard by a 'bomb believed to be of alien origin', and both Buzz and Linda crawl from the wreckage. Linda (otherwise known as Supergirl) is not well, and is taken to medical facilities, where she consistently insists she's fine, although she's obviously suffering from concussion. Buzz is somewhat incoherent and stumbles around looking for Linda. His calls are answered by another Linda, whom he cuts free from her car, only to abandon her to a group of thugs when they threaten him.
Supergirl suddenly realizes that Ma and Pa Kent may have been caught in the blast, but before she can check that they're okay, she sees that people are looting and burning in response to the disaster. Meanwhile, Buzz's conscience gets the better of him and he chases the thugs off from their attempted rape of the woman he abandoned to them while Linda is putting out fires. Unfortunately, 'other Linda' is so traumatized by what's happened that she thinks Buzz is one of her attackers, as do police officers who arrive on the scene, and Linda, even though Buzz is incapable of lying to her. Buzz is taken into custody while Linda flies off to help more innocents.
