Synopsis for "Love the Ones We Hurt"

Supergirl is waiting out of Bellevue Hospital where Captain Boomerang is hospitalized. As she keeps watch, Kara's mind goes over several things, such like Boomerang claiming her called. Yet she never got his call.

Power Boy is hovering over her, trying to talk her into having a break. Supergirl thanks him for helping her take Boomerang to the hospital, and Power Boy hugs her from behind and kisses her. Kara breaks the kiss when she hears Boomer waking up and asking for her. Visibly distraught, Power Boy wants to go on making out, but Supergirl asks him to wait for a bit while she pays Boomer a visit.

Power Boy's reaction is to hit her brutally until knocking her unconscious.

Meanwhile, on Stonehenge a woman conferences with another figure, stating Supergirl is strong in body but her mind must still be tested. In order to dissect Supergirl's spirit, she's recruited Felix Faust.

Somewhere else, Supergirl regains consciousness. She slowly notes she's lying on a bed, her arms have been shackled with strength-dampeners, and the room's walls are plastered with dozens of pictures of hers. Kara realizes her so-called boyfriend is insane.

Power Boy makes his presence known right then. He says he's sorry about the power-dampeners and the fight, but it was her fault for not listening to him. Then he reveals he was born in Apokolips, trained by Darkseid to become an undercover agent on Earth. But then he saw Supergirl when she was kidnapped and dragged to Apokolips,[1] and fell for her so hard he couldn't eat, sleep or think. He left Apokolips and followed Supergirl across the universe until he decided to introduce himself. Cupping her chin, Power Boy says all he wants is to fix her and look after her.

Angrily, Supergirl blasts his strength-dampening shackles -simultaneously burning his hand-, and states you don't hit someone after telling you love them. Furious, Supergirl punches him out of his own house. Power Boy screams she made him hurt her because she doesn't listen to him, and he'll hurt her again until she understands she can be happy if she just does what he tells her.

Kara ignores his self-justifying rant as she lifts his own house and dumps it on his head.

Power Boy uses a Fatherbox to teleport himself off world just before being hit. Grinning, he assures he'll keep stalking Kara, and comments she can't drop a house on him now.

Supergirl shows up all of sudden and knees his groin. After reminding him she outflew her cousin, she grabs him by his suit's collar and threatens to break every bone in his body if he stalks her again. Then she picks and crushes his Fatherbox.

Abruptly, the shattered device releases waves of energy, and a voice warns the unit must be repaired or completely destroyed to prevent a time-space eruption. Supergirl swiftly throws the Box in the Sun, but it blows up.

Kara is momentarily blinded by the explosion. When she opens her eyes again, Power Boy is gone and the Earth Sun is now a red star.
