Synopsis for "Death Becomes Her"

On the planet I'noxia, which is populated by a race of nano-beings, Supergirl has been forced into merging her consciousness with the I'noxians so that they can rebuild Krypton as she remembers it. This was all a ploy on the part of the amnesic Cyborg Superman to find out about his past.

Since succeeding, the Cyborg Superman has indeed found his true identity. He is Zor-El, Supergirl's father, and he just killed her to get that knowledge. Meanwhile, his master, Brainiac, has arrived demanding to know where Supergirl is, hoping to study her while she is under the influence of Kryptonite poisoning. Hurriedly, Zor-El destroys the I'noxians' communications console, announcing that he will not let Brainiac have his daughter. Angrily, the I'noxian representative Delacore warns that his people must hand over Supergirl's consciousness if they want to be spared by Brainiac. Desperately, Zor-El suggests that he can minimize the I'noxian collected so they can escape undetected - if they help rebuild Kara's body by turning him back into the Cyborg Superman. Reluctantly, Delacore agrees, ordering the I'noxians to repel Brainiac's advance.

As he gathers the remains of his cyborg suit, Zor-El explains that he will have no memory of the truth - and it is imperative that Kara, when she comes back, never find out that truth either. Once he becomes the cyborg again, he can become a necessary distraction for both Kara and the I'noxians to escape Brainiac.

Kara, meanwhile, begins to fight the I'noxians' attempts to have her rebuild Krypton, having retained her memories, and her sense of what is right. She threatens that she will force the I'noxians to destroy themselves if they do not help her get her body back. Desperately, they try to explain that she is weakening their defences against an attack. They beg her to see reason and escape with them, but Kara is bent on getting revenge on the cyborg.

As Brainiac's collectors begin overrunning the planet, Zor-El warns that if he finds out that Kara survived following his transformation, he will never cease to hunt her. He must not find out. Delacore begins the transformation, but he realizes too late that Kara has broken free of the collective, and now has control of the entire planet, demanding the Cyborg Superman show himself. Fortunately, Zor-El's transformation completes before Kara can see him, and in turn, her own body is returned to her. As planned, the Cyborg Superman focuses his attack on Brainiac's forces, allowing Delacore to meet and clothe Kara. He warns, though, that Brainiac is poised to destroy the planet, having come for her. Fortunately, the transfer process eradicated the Kryptonite poisoning in Kara's body. Meanwhile, Brainiac need never know that her consciousness ever left the collective.

After reducing the entire collective to a small orb, Delacore warns Kara that she and they must escape together, and not waste their chance to do so by seeking petty revenge on the Cyborg Superman for what he did to her. The Cyborg is occupied by his battle with Brainiac, and if they do not leave before a victor is decided, that victor will never stop hunting. As they speed away, Delacore thanks Kara for sharing her memories with the collective. Even if the representations of her family and friends were not real, the love they held for her was.

Sighing, Kara moves on, but a new threat is on the horizon.
