Synopsis for "The Wanderers"

The Wanderers surround the Legion Headquarters. The defenses have been deactivated by a mole called Ral Benem. White Witch's spell seals the Legionnaires within their base, partitioned in twos and threes. All communications have been severed. Jeyra Entinn proclaims Earth is now theirs.

Inside the base, Dream Girl warns Brainiac 5 about the impending destruction of Metropolis. Brainiac's vision vanishes when Supergirl wakes him up to tell him that an unbreakable energy wall has gone up around them. Supergirl, Brainiac 5, Saturn Girl, Cosmic Boy and Phantom Girl have been sealed off the rest of the building.

Saturn Girl senses four Legionnaires have been teleported away. Brainiac's analysis reveals the barrier is a probability conversion shield, stronger than Inertron. Not even Supergirl is strong enough to crack it.

Cosmic Boy asks if they can use the Phantom Zone Projector to escape, but Brainiac tells no. According to Mon-El, the Zone is sealed. He is a Daxamite, put in the Zone thousand years ago because he is sick from lead poisoning. Brainiac might try and to find a cure. Unfortunately, the key ingredient is Kryptonite. The Legion keeps a chunk, but the shield ensures that Brainiac has no access to it.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in Metropolis, Light Lass, Karate Kid, Ultra Boy and Star Boy are brought before the Wanderers, who claim to want to recruit them.

Light Lass recognizes the leader of the Wanderers and demands an explanation. The hooded man used to be a member of a Black Ops team working for the United Planets. For their final mission, they were sent to investigate reports of Dominator activities. They fought hard, but he was the sole survivor of his team.

Though he learned that the Dominators had a long-range plan to conquer Earth. He didn't trust the U. P. to intervene, so he gathered the Wanderers, hardened fighters ready and willing to do whatever it takes to save the galaxy.

Karate Kid asks why fighting the Legion when they have the same goals. The man retorts he doesn't need allies but soldiers. Then he reveals he's Mekt Ranzz, Garth and Ayla's older brother.

Inside the barrier, Brainiac has a plan. Mon-El is disoriented and mentally unbalanced after ten centuries of isolation stemming from being put in the Zone by someone wearing the "S"-Shield. So Mon-El frees him, and Mon attacks Supergirl right away. Kara fights back, and the battle of two enraged, planet-crushers super-beings smashing each other brutally against the walls is enough to shatter every force-field.

The Legionnaires released, Brainiac quickly gets his hands on the piece of Kryptonite and whips a cure up. Invisible Kid gets Mon-El to swallow it.

Mon-El calms down and agrees to help the Legion out.

However, he is abruptly teleported away by White Witch.
