History

Located at the mouth of the Columbia River, Superior City was a busy seaport on the Pacific Ocean, with a bustling waterfront, and a Chinatown district.[1] It was the site of the famous Chanler building,[2] and also had at least one large suspension bridge.

During 1940-41, the city's District Attorney was Tom Darrow, later succeeded by Mr. Hawkes. Richard Raleigh served as Assistant District Attorney to both of these officials. Racketeers and gangsters infested the city, and the D.A.'s office was kept very busy.
