Synopsis for "The Jealous Lois Lane!"

Professor Potter demonstrates his emotion machine in front of the Daily Planet Staff. The machine detects hate when strapped to Perry and it detects fear when it is strapped to Jimmy. The machine contains a ball which glows when it detects the start of an emotion and it further rings an alarm bell when the subject reaches the peak of their emotional reaction. The professor then offers to strap his machine on Lois to detect jealousy but Lois proclaims that the experiment is ridiculous and she never has any jealous thoughts. The Planet staff laughs at the statement because they are all aware that Lois gets extremely jealous when Superman encounters other beautiful women. Perry then proposes that Lois wear the machine as she follows Superman on his daily schedule. An hour later, Lois arrives at the mansion of Betty Drew the famous actress. The actress is hosting a large party and Superman is scheduled to attend. The light bulb on the machine starts to glow as Lois begins to get jealous of Drew's beauty. It really gets bright once Superman arrives and Betty Drew begins to fawn over him. She realizes that the bell alarm on the machine is about to go off and notify everyone of her jealousy so she uses a powder puff from her compact to muffle the bell. Superman is really surprised that the machine did not detect any jealousy. Lois then asks if she can hitch a ride with Superman as he meets with Lori the Mermaid. Superman is scheduled to meet with her so she can donate a surprise gift to the Metropolis Museum. Superman flies Lois to the event so she can cover it for the Daily Planet. Upon their arrival they find that Lori and her people are donating a group of deep sea creatures in special habitats to the Metropolis zoo. Lois sees their exchange from a distance and sees that the couple still has a connection from the past. She begins to grow jealous once more but this time she spots Topo the mind reading Octopus in the ocean. She asks the octopus to prevent the bell from ringing so Superman will not realize that she is growing jealous. Topo wraps his tentacle around the machines bell and prevents it from going off. Lois's emotions are saved once more. Later that day Lois and Superman attend a dedication ceremony for a new Metropolis dam. Superman demonstrates her great ability at generating electricity with his superspeed. A pretty female then approaches Superman and kisses him on the lips. Lois realizes that her jealousy alarm is about to go off so she uses a magnetic field from the Dam's machine to prevent the bell from ringing. In all three cases, Lois is able to avoid the embarrassment of having her jealous emotions revealed to Superman. Later on Lois finds herself in Perry's office as Superman is judging the Prettiest Girl Reporter contest. Superman is looking through photographs as an alarm bell goes off. The bell was a result of a rat gnawing on the Planets alarm system but Superman and Perry Judge it to be from the professors emotion machine. They conclude that the alarm was set off because Lois became jealous that Superman was looking at pictures of pretty girls. Superman then reveals that he was looking at a picture of Lois much to her chagrin. Lois gets frustrated that she really didn't get jealous in this instance.
