Synopsis for "The Birdboy of Metropolis"

When Clark Kent is forced to smash an approaching meteor without changing into Superman, he is spotted in the sky by Jimmy who is in the Flying Newsroom. Clark quickly covers for this when Jimmy visits him at the Daily Planet and Clark is examining an pair of ancient Egyptian wings that allow it's wearer to really fly, this convinces Jimmy that Clark was flying by artificial means.

When reports of an escaped bird hit the air-waves, Jimmy wants to use the wings to capture the bird. With no choice but to let Jimmy do this to protect his secret identity, Clark straps the wings onto Jimmy and secretly uses his super-breath to keep the boy aloft. This prompts Jimmy to continue to use the wings for publicity stunts and getting scoops for the Daily Planet.

Caught in a tight bind because he can't keep on using his super-powers to make Jimmy think he's flying, Superman tries to steer Jimmy to near disaster to convince him to abandon the wings. After a number of failed attempts, Superman then orchestrates the wings to "malfunction" causing Jimmy to fall out of them and need to be rescued by Superman. The Man of Steel then uses his super-breath to blow the wings away, making Jimmy think they flew away on their own.

Synopsis for "The Amazing Spectacles of Dr. X"

This story is reprinted from Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #29.

Jimmy has found the secret hideout of Dr. X a criminal inventor, however as luck would have it the police arrive having learned it's location when Dr. X died in a plane crash and are cordoning off the area. To avoid getting in trouble, Jimmy slips on a pair of shades from the doctors secret lab and manages to slip away.

Jimmy soon learns that the glasses allow him to see in the future, he witnesses an instance when Superman's aid in building a building is marred by Kryptonite, a moment where a city worker may stumble upon Superman's secret identity, and finally what appears to be Jimmy suffering a drowning death while on a fishing trip. Jimmy manages to prevent the first two disasters, and not taking any risks he writes a will before trying to prevent fate a third time.

However, while at the lake, Jimmy is visited by Superman, the Man of Steel asks Jimmy to help him out for an educational film on water safety and that what he witnessed was the shooting of the film. Taken to the set, Jimmy realizes that he lost the future goggles, and decides that he's better off without knowing what the future has in store for him.

A burglar from the 31st Century leaves a kit of futuristic burglar tools, which Jimmy appropriates to help him get stories...but the crook has lifted Jimmy's secret signal-watch.

Synopsis for "The Unwanted Superman Souvenirs"

This story is reprinted from Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #15.

Jimmy Olsen invites Clark Kent over to see his Superman souvenir collection, Jimmy specifically points out his latest addition: A crystal from another world. Later, Clark changes into Superman and spots Jimmy throwing out one of his souvenirs. As the days progress, Jimmy begins throwing out various souvenirs, this activity troubles Superman however when asking Jimmy as Clark, he finds that Jimmy doesn't recollect what he did.

Superman would realize that Jimmy is in a trance as he's throwing out his souvenirs, and realizes that if he takes the first letter of each souvenir and arrange them into words, it spells out a message for help. Superman realizes that it's the crystal that he brought from another world, and that it's really alive and has been telepathically making Jimmy do these things to get Superman's attention. With the mystery solve, Superman puts the crystal in a protective container and throws it back it's home planet.

Synopsis for "Most Fantastic Camera in the World"

This story is reprinted from Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #34.

While taking photographs of scientific inventions Jimmy meets up with Professor Potter again, who has a top secret camera he's testing out. When Potter uses the camera it explodes in his hands and unknowingly effects Jimmy's camera and makes it suck up items that he is taking pictures of. Unknown to this, Jimmy takes a picture of Perry in commemoration of his 25 years of service with the Daily Planet, this causes his dentures to be sucked out of his mouth and into the camera. Later, Jimmy sucks in a bullet that was fired at Superman while taking pictures during a fight, and later still unknowingly sucks up Superman's specially made glasses into the camera while taking a picture of the Man of Steel at a marble competition.

Later, his camera sucks up a diamond that he is photographing and a criminal happens to see the spectacle and decides to try and steal it for his own gain. Later, when Jimmy returns home and tries to take the film out of his camera, he's shocked to find the items inside. Finding Superman's glasses and learning that they are indestructible and that they resemble Clark Kent's own glasses, Jimmy decides that he will try and get Clark's finger print to see if they match the ones that are on the glasses.

When the crook takes Jimmy hostage and steals the camera and uses Jimmy's signal watch to lure Superman into a trap by a false promise of a Kryptonite antidote, the crook tries to kill Superman with Kryptonite. However, Jimmy saves the day, and the camera is destroyed in the process. Later, when Jimmy has Clark Kent give his finger print so that he can match it with the one on the glasses, Jimmy is shocked to find that it doesn't match, totally unaware that Jimmy was comparing Clark's finger print to his own (which he accidentally put on the glasses himself.)

Synopsis for "The Cabinet from Krypton"

An evolution cabinet from Krypton turns Jimmy into an old man, Perry White into a baby, and Lois Lane into a cat-headed woman, until Superman can trick Mr. Mxyzptlk into restoring their true forms.
