Synopsis for "Fright Knight"

Supergirl comes upon a mass murder site in the Suicide Slum in Metropolis. A policeman tells her this is his job; she is not needed here. She decides to get help from the "world's greatest detective." Next in Gotham, we see Robin in chains about to be attacked by Killer Croc. Supergirl intervenes, but Robin says he doesn't need her help. He calls her "Alien." Robin already knows about the murders in Metropolis, much to Kara's surprise. Robin reminds her that he is son of Batman. Since she cannot get Dick G. or Tim to help, she agrees to let Damian help her (reluctantly). She tells him to make his own way to Metropolis. Later at the morgue, Kara scans the bodies to no avail. Robin, however, has found in a database that they were all interns at Lexcorp and students from Metropolis University. At Lexcorp Tower, they find that Lex is away, and Spalding says he knows nothing about the murders. Damian then finds that the surviving interns are going to a Halloween party that night! Kara dressed as a pink bunny, and Damian as a 1940's style detective, attend the event "undercover." Kara senses that there is much fear in the room, and everyone is talking about the murders, except one person in a robe and large pumpkin head piece. When Kara grabs the pumpkin person, he hits her with a green mist, causing her to hallucinate that he is the villain Reactron, and she "sees" her parents. A vision of Superman says she is not worthy, and he will guide Superwoman to a career, and not Kara. The figure tries to stab Kara with a wooden spike, but Damian hits him and reveals him to be Jonathan Crane, the Scarecrow, using a fear toxin to cause visions. The interns were driven to fear and then killed by Scarecrow as revenge against Lex Luthor, who had stolen Crane's yellow ring! That caused Crane fear because he still had to face Batman in the future. A captured Scarecrow was returned to Arkham Asylum by Damian and Kara, Officer Hunt apologizes to Kara. When Kara offers to give Damian a ride back to Gotham, he politely agrees. Kara reacts to him being nice for once. Back in Gotham, Dick Grayson (Batman) accuses Damian of having a crush on Supergirl. Robin vehemently denies this, and makes threats toward Dick, Robin says Kara was a fair and adequate partner on this case, for an alien! As Supergirl flies away, she exclaims "Little jerk!" A caption on last page says, "Happy Halloween!"
