Superman: Lost #9 is an issue of the series Superman: Lost (Volume 1) with a cover date of February, 2024. It was published on December 12, 2023.
Synopsis for "Emmaus - Superman: Lost, Book Nine"
Lois abruptly visits Jemison McGonigle, the senator accused of taking bribe money, and reveals that his assistant, Terry, was falsely accused of taking that money. In reality, the money had been stolen by the assistant of another senator, but McGonigle chose to resign if it meant protecting Terry.
Meanwhile, Lex has been stalking Lois, trying to figure out how did she keep her cancer symptoms secret from Superman. He continuously calls her, but she refuses to answer him. Superman himself has just barely discovered Lois' secret and confronts her about it. He is angry and disappointed that Lois would keep a secret from him, but Lois reminds her husband that he is not a cold, distant alien. He is human, just like she is. She admits that asking for Lex's help was a mistake, but she was worried about Superman and didn't know how to help him.
Lois knows that the events on planet Kansas are still haunting him, even when Superman insists that, no matter how hard he tries, he can't find Kansas again. He wants to stop whatever Lex is planning, but Lois tells him that, instead, he should focus on fixing whatever is troubling him. He needs to fight for her and himself.
Sometime later, Lois confronts Lex and demands that she give him the cure to her fake disease. Lois claims not to know what Lois is talking about, but Lois knows that Lex was bombarding the entire restaurant with gamma rays and that means he must have been exposed to radiation, just like she was. Lois believes that Lex was either lying about the disease or he has the cure. Admitting that his deception is over, Lex hands her a vial with a transparent liquid and she leaves.
Superman visits Dr. Michael Schwartz again and admits that, this whole time, he's been fantasizing about killing Lex. He feels ashamed for feeling like this, but Dr. Schwartz reminds Superman that to feel hatred is part of being human. When a person feels hatred, in reality, he feels desperate to destroy the source of whatever is making him unhappy, in this case, Lex.
As Lex continues to wait for Superman in home, Lois takes Lex's supposed cure to S.T.A.R. Labs and discovers that it's a special kind of water that will neutralize her symptoms. She called it "mithridate", like the miracle cure from the Renaissance. She apologizes to her husband for letting her obsession get the better of her and admits that, in that regard, she is no better than Lex.
Suddenly, the Kents are visited by Bruce, who tries to inform Superman that someone has tracked Superman's transporter signal to Earth, but Superman is already aware of who has been following him. It's Hope and she is pregnant.
