Synopsis for "Fight of a Lifetime"

Superman is out cold and Grikus the Undefeated claims victory, while Lois and Jimmy watch. Earlier at the Daily Planet, Lois told Clark that she was waiting for confirmation on embezzling of funds and grows annoyed of Olsen repeatedly hitting the wall with a ball, telling him to play somewhere else. Perry soon shows up and informs them about the spaceship just outside the building. Clark confronts the spaceship after changing into his costume and is met by Grikus who asks why he didn't attack him atraight away. As Clark states that he tries to avoid fights at any cost, Grikus recognizes he's someone with honor and states he came on Earth to duel him.

Realizing that Superman doesn't recognize him, Grikus feels despondent that no one remembers him and narrates that he was created to win gladiatorial fights. As he kept winning, no one wanted to fight him anymore and he had to quit fighting even though he was one victory short of winning 1,000 fights which would make him a legend. After hearing about Superman who was the last of the Kryptonians, famous as the strongest race once under the sun, he came to fight him in a duel to the death. Clark accepts his challenge but states they can't fight in the city as civilians could be harmed. Grikus however states someone must witness their fight and Clark decides to bring along Lois as well as Jimmy.

Back in the present, Grikus is celebrating his victory but soon gets attacked by the heat vision of Superman who regains his consciousness. Superman teases him for thinking he'll go down so easily, with Grikus responding he wants to fight him for days. The two engage in a long-drawn out fight for days, but Superman eventually loses from exhaustion. Leaving after his victory, Grikus states that he fought honorably and leaves his sword as a souvenir of his victory, telling Jimmy to inform others about his win. Superman opens his eyes after he has left and reveals he was just pretending to lose so Grikus could finally be at peace.

Meanwhile, in a military base outside Metropolis, a doctor tells his subordinates to reassemble Metallo and informs General Sam Lane he has been successfully upgraded. Lane asks him how he's feeling, and Metallo states he's ready to fight again.
