Superman: Man of Tomorrow #6 is a chapter in the digital-first series Superman: Man of Tomorrow (Volume 1 (Digital)) with a cover date of May, 2020.
Synopsis for "What Makes a City? Conclusion"
Superman is knocked out after jumping in front of the laser beam fired at an unpaying customer, who pays the money he owed to the diner and runs away. A woman working at the diner recognizes him as Clark Kent and calls for help, but he flees away before his identity as Superman is exposed. As people question the woman whether she really saw someone, Superman arrives and states he has left Clark at a hospital.
A LexCorp cannon prepares to fire at Superman but he destroys it before it can and goes away stating that's what happens when people trust machines as they have no heart. Luthor learns that he destroyed his gun and states he is a relic of the past, declaring that Metropolis is his. Clark fights through multiple laser cannons but eventually gets overwhelmed. Perry, Lois and Jimmy intervene to save him and Perry encourages people to pay back Superman for protecting them, by saving him.
After they destroy all the cannons, the globe of the Daily Planet turns into a giant laser cannon designed to take out Superman. Clark knows he might be killed but tells Lois he has to save the people. As the beam strikes him, he powers through it and destroys the giant cannon before turning Lex in.
On the next day, Lex comes out of the police station and proclaims his innocence, stating it's Superman who operates illegally and destroyed his property, promising he will fight the charges against himself in court. Lois thinks Lex will as usual get get away as he's rich, but Clark states he believes in Metropolis.
