Synopsis for "Bad Character"
Meeting in a secret lair, a group of Underworlders conspire with the deadly Bloodthirst for revenge against Project Cadmus's Commander Westfield who flooded their Underworld. Bloodthirst tells them of a reception to take place in honor of Superman's Return to be held aboard the Lexcorp Blimp. He will provide them with implants that will disguise them and enhance their abilities so that they can strike and kill everyone aboard including Westfield. Bloodthirst however only cares that Luthor is destroyed during the attack.
Finishing up at the Kent farm, Superman and Lois return to Metropolis to find an invitation to the benefit planned in Superman's honour. Invitations are also sent to Superboy and Steel. Clark returns to the Daily Planet to a warm welcome. But before he can get settled, his super hearing picks up cries for help. He quickly excuses himself, changes into Superman, and is back in action! He saves a man who fell off a bridge, and a child trapped in a burning building.
Meanwhile Lois is investigating a phony insurance claim made by Lexcorp on a building they say was damaged during the battle with Doomsday, but was really secretly undermined and collapsed.
Later at the benefit Lex Luthor is angry at Supergirl for abandoning him to help Superman back in Engine City. He is distracted when Lois arrives and asks her to dance. She questions him on Lexcorp's involvement in insurance improprieties. The Underworlders begin their attack tearing a hole in the side of the blimp, and sending it plummeting to the ground. Lex falls through a hole made in the floor. Clark changes into Superman, rescues him and then proceeds to protect Westfield from the Underworlders attack. He defeats them easily and then quickly flies outside to guide the blimp safely to the ground.
The next day Lois conducts her interview with Luthor. Luthor denies any wrong doing in the destruction of his building and assures her that he has nothing but the best intentions for the people of Metropolis. He tries to kiss her, but she pushes him off her and leaves. She meets up with Clark in the lobby and they embrace. Lex watches all this on a security camera and vows to get even!
