Lois is being held hostage by Lex, who aims a gun to her head and demands that she for her life. Lois refuses, only saying that Superman is coming for Lex and when he arrives, Lex will be in trouble. Lex once again demands Lois to beg and she again refuses, causing him to finally lose patience and kill her. As Lois’ body falls to the ground, Lex says she should have begged.
This was only a dream, however. A bad dream Superman was having as he stands on the latest stop in his quest to find Alice, a waiting room for an intergalactic bureaucratic agency that handles long-distance calls across the universe. The constant waiting is nothing short of agonizing for Superman, who has been going from window to window, looking for someone who can help him contact home. He wants to call home to see if Lois is alright. Unfortunately, just when it seems he will finally get his call, the official tells him to keep waiting.
Superman has been waiting for hours and during that time, he has been dreaming of countless ways his beloved Lois dies, each death more painful and traumatic than the last. The constant waiting and these terrible dreams test the limits of Superman’s willpower. Luckily, the wait ends and Superman gets his call. Lois tells him to find that girl quickly and to return him. She misses him as much as he misses her.

Synopsis for "Superman: Up in the Sky, Part 6: Just a Little Farther!"
Long ago, in the time of the Great War, Sergeant Rock and Easy Company had endured one of their hardest missions. They were tasked with crossing Death Valley and take St. Ruth’s church at the top of a hill. Along the way, they find a mysterious man in a red cape, unconscious and lying on the ground. Sgt. Rock carries the man on his shoulders and brings him to a trench. Giving the man some water, Rock asks who he is. The man does not remember, only answering that he comes from Kansas. Rock gives “Kansas” a uniform and weapons, making him an honorary member of Easy. Although he doesn’t know how to fight in a war or use a weapon, he agrees to stay with Easy till the end.
The enemy still holds the church, and Easy is reluctant to retreat, as that would mean other people would have to complete their mission. Rock says that Easy will complete the mission whatever it takes, and his soldiers agree, including Kansas. Easy charges across the valley, dodging enemy fire and attempting a counterattack. An explosive hits Kansas, but he is unharmed, surprising Rock. As the enemy continues their attack, Easy takes cover in a foxhole, but Rock is injured and Kansas thinks he might be unable to complete the mission, so he runs across the field on his own.
The enemy hits Kansas will they’ve got, but their weapons fail to harm him, only managing to tear apart his uniform. As fire burns all around him, Kansas remembers who he is, so he puts on his real uniform. He is Superman.
With Superman’s help, Easy accomplishes their mission. Superman wishes he could stay with Rock and Easy but the portal that brought him to this time will close soon and he must continue his search for Alice. Rock wishes Superman good luck and they shake hands. As Superman takes his leave, he thanks Rock for saving the world.
