Synopsis for "Prologue"

Superman bashes through the wall of a Kryptonian military installation, looking for Zod. He has come to stop Zod, after he just told 100,000 Kryptonians to declare war on Earth. Zod tells him that his opinion doesn't matter to him, since he gave up his position in the Kryptonian Military Guild. Superman punches Zod, but other Kryptonians come and help him up. Zod then has his wife Ursa attack him. She uses a Kryptonite knife and slashes Superman in the chest. She reveals to him that even though it hurts, it gives her a lot of satisfaction. Superman shatters the knife by using his heat vision. Just as Superman is about to continue his attack on Zod, Non crashes through the roof on top of Superman, and manages to hold him down, with Ursa putting the Kryptonite knife right by his neck.

Zod tells Kal-El that he is no longer a superman anymore, now that there is a whole planet full of people with the same abilities as him, which has leveled the playing field between him and New Krypton. He reveals to Superman that when he first came to New Krypton and renounced Earth, he allowed Kal-El to join the Military Guild, so that he could keep an eye on him, which was exactly what Superman was trying to do, get close to Zod so that he can spy on him. He also tells Superman that he is going to level Earth and kill everyone on the planet, especially the one he loves the most. Kal-El tells Zod that he was wrong on one thing, he never renounced Earth and breaks free and attacks Zod, but Ursa and Non hold him down again. He tells Zod that a war between Earth and New Krypton would spell the destruction of both worlds, and that he will stop him from attacking Earth. However, Zod asks Superman how he's going to stop him from attacking Earth, when he has already sent the order to attack, as the Kryptonian military descends on Earth.

Synopsis for "Filling in the Blanks"

It's rainy night on Metropolis. In the Daily Planet, Lois Lane is work alone at her desk. As she's looking through her notes, she starts typing into her computer the history of Superman. From the time he was rocketed to Earth from Krypton before it was destroyed, to when he was found, adopted, and raised into the man he is now, in Kansas by parents who instilled him with moral values. Under the Earth's yellow sun, he was given powers far beyond those of mortal men, and went under the name Superman, the Last Son of Krypton, and Earth's greatest hero.

She then types in about how years later, Superman found out he was not alone in the universe when his cousin Kara Zor-El, who survived Krypton's destruction and adopted the name Supergirl. Superman also finds out that a number of Kryptonian criminals had escaped what is known as the Phantom Zone. During one of Superman and Supergirl's encounters with the Coluan villain Brainiac, they encountered the lost Kryptonian city Kandor, which was stolen by Brainiac before Krypton's destruction. Superman then enlarged Kandor, releasing 100,000 Kryptonians from their prison city. However, they were not willing to assimilate into Earth's culture as Superman and Supergirl did. They then used advanced science to send Kandor to the other side of the Sun, and enlarged it into New Krypton.

She then goes on to say how New Krypton had no leader to defend the young planet, so, Supergirl's mother, Alura In-Ze released a criminal from the Phantom Zone and pardoned him for his crimes against Krypton. This man was Zod. However, Superman knew Zod better than nearly every Kryptonian. So, in order to keep an eye on him, Kal-El moved to New Krypton and joined the Kryptonian Military Guild.

Since Superman was on New Krypton, several heroes tries to fill in the gap. Superboy, Nightwing and Flamebird, Steel, Mon-El, Krypto, and Guardian helped protect Earth while Superman watched Zod.

However, there were people on Earth who wanted to stop the Kryptonians from invading Earth. One of them was Project 7734, which was led by the once-thought dead General Lane, Lois's father, who recruited several assassins, Superwoman, Atlas, Reactron, Metallo, Codename: Assassin to attack the Kryptonians here on Earth, and on New Krypton.

She types all about her father in her computer, not realizing that someone else is on the floor with her. The mysterious person comes up from behind and slams a book next to Lois on her desk. When she turns around, she finds that it's Jimmy Olsen, who was thought to have been killed by Project 7734 during the time when Superman was fighting Atlas. He tells Lois that Natasha Irons, Steel's neice, helped him stay undercover. He asks her if she wants to know about Project 7734 and her father. Lois answers, "Absolutely".
