Synopsis for "The Metal Curtain: Chapter Two"
Superman takes Lois to the Fortress of Solitude where he shows her to the bottled cities liberated from Brainiac, and as well introducing her to his shrunken parents, Jor-El and Lara. As Jor-El and Lara tell Lois about their people, Superman plans to reveal his secret identity to her. But he does not have the chance to do this as he hears the desperate cries of "mayday!"
Metallo has made his move by attacking a U-2 spy plane over the Bering Sea. The plane's wing is shot, but Superman prevents the plane from crashing. Unfortunately, this left him vulnerable to Metallo. Exposed to Metallo's Kryptonite battery, Superman is weakened and is repeatedly pummeled by Metallo until he is left floating in the sea.
