Synopsis for "The Beast Beneath These Streets/First Date"

The mayor of Metropolis gives a speech where there was once a part of the city known as Old Town which had been buried, but ought to be unearthed and renovated as part of an urban renewal plan to help Metropolis' ever growing population and economy. Superman flies to the speech and uses his super spin ability to burrow underground to check out Old Town. However, in doing so, he discovers a hostile, intelligent creature who seeks to gain Superman's powers. Superman warns the mayor that he must stop this creature before any plans to unearth Old Town begin. He learns that the creature in fact Dr. Morpheus, an evil scientist who sought immortality through genetic experimentation.
