Superman Adventures #19 is an issue of the series Superman Adventures (Volume 1) with a cover date of May, 1998.

Synopsis for "The Bodyguard of Steel"

Superman breaks into the White House as the U.S. government tries to stop him by employing state-of-the-art defense systems. Superman bursts through the Oval Office and mimics shooting the president. It is revealed to have been a test run of the white house's security, as a billion dollars bounty has been placed on the president's head to stop him from signing an international peace treaty. Superman offers to be his personal bodyguard and goes to tell Perry that he will be taking a vacation.

Meanwhile, Lex Luthor walks through Lexcorp, uncharacteristically cheerful, and hands out raises to his employees. Luthor loudly announces his arrival to his office, where another Lex Luthor is sitting in his chair, unimpressed. The fake Lex takes off his disguise, revealing him to be Multi-Face, one of the world's greatest assassins. Luthor has hired him to carry out a big hit, with the only specification being to use one of Luthor's weapons.

Back at the white house, Toyman and various other villains attempt to assassinate the president, but all are thwarted by Superman.

At the treaty conference, Superman notices someone disguised as Clark Kent and confronts him. Multi-Face takes off his mask and prepares to shoot Superman. Just then, General Hardcastle tells Superman to get out of the way, as he was the real target all along. Lois hits Multi-Face with a fire extinguisher, knocking him unconscious.
