Synopsis for Supergirl: "Linda Danvers -- Movie Star!"
This story is reprinted from Action Comics #372.
Linda Danvers/Kara Zor-El wins a date with famed actor Brand Burton on a quiz show, and Burton invites her to a week-end in a tropical island where he is shooting a movie. On the way, however, the plane encounters a tropical storm, and the stewardess falls out of the plane. Supergirl manages to fly the woman back in, and right the ship without nobody noticing her, but Brad saw the stewardess fall out and wonders if that woman is Supergirl.
Later, Linda is introduced to Zita Monroe, the movie's lead actress who has developed a mean temper after three failed movies and gets jealous when Brad offers Linda a part in his movie. Zita attempts repeatedly to hurt Linda and mess up her scenes, but Linda makes every attempt to fail until Zita begins to suspect Linda is Supergirl. She plans to expose Linda and shares her suspicions with Brad, but she is overheard by Linda.
Linda averts their suspicions by staining her body with berry juice to make them believe she got a rash due to clinging to poison vines, and engineers events to get Brad and Zita back together. Months later, "Queen of the Islands" is released, with Linda in her first starring role.
