Synopsis for Supergirl: "Displaced Double Identity"

Linda Danvers runs into New Athens Experimental School's new teacher Valerie Myles. As they are talking, Valerie notices Linda's rare pendant. Linda says it is an imported gem gifted by her cousin in order to not reveal its alien nature.

All of sudden, a criminal known as Gyronaut flies by. Linda slips away, but while she is changing clothes, Kara sees Valerie believes she is Supergirl. Kara grabs Valerie when she jumps off a building, and for Val's own safety, Supergirl locks her friend up in a storage room as she tries to capture the Gyronaut. Valerie starts banging on the door, yelling she is Supergirl, until making the old padlock snap. Valerie walks out of the door, but she has been overheard by Gyronaut's partner, who believes she is really Supergirl.

Elsewhere, Supergirl is about to catch up with the Gyronaut, but he replies he expected her interference and planted a bomb at the building he just looted. Supergirl flies back to neutralize the bomb and the Gyronaut makes his escape. Supergirl heads back towards the storeroom. In the meantime, though, Gyronaut's partner has overpowered Valerie. Thinking his gyro-speed timepiece is somehow able to nullify her powers, he kidnaps Valerie.

Supergirl returns to the empty room right after, and uses her super-hearing to search for Valerie. She overheards an argument between Gyronaut and his minion, Ernie. Gyronaut was nearly captured because Ernie was supposed to use his remote control device to move him at super-speed, but he was too busy taking Valerie to their hideout. When Gyronaut says he was nearly caught by Supergirl, Ernie argues maybe there are two Supergirls right like Gyronaut is secretly a two-men partnership. Initially Gyronaut dismisses Ernie's theory but then he considers it'd explain Supergirl's speed stunts.

Supergirl has heard enough and is ready to attack. Still Kara wonders why Valerie believed she was Supergirl, and it occurs to Kara the alien stone was transmitting her personality to Valerie, so she shatters her pendant and barges into the Gyronaut team's lair. Gyronaut believes he can outfly her, but Supergirl easily proves him wrong before capturing him and Ernie.

Later, Linda asks Val if she isn't sure she isn't Supergirl.
