Synopsis for "The World's Finest, Part Two: Early Warning"
This story is reprinted from Superman/Batman #2.
Batman and Superman have been buried alive by Metallo. Unable and unwilling to go up out of the grave for fear of another Metallo attack, Batman uses an explosive charge to free them from the grave. They end up in the Gotham City Sewers and working together eventually return to the Batcave via underground tunnels.
Meanwhile in DC, Luthor and Captain Atom wait as a cache of nuclear missiles head towards the Kryptonite Asteroid via an illegally obtained boom tube. The missiles fail and the meteor gets closer.
Back in the cave, Alfred has removed the bullet and patched up Superman. Batman has found out what Superman was trying to tell him about John Corben...according to files in S.T.A.R. Labs, Corben was in Gotham City the night his parents were murdered and also carried the same caliber weapon they were murdered with. While they argue, a boom tube opens and an older version Superman appears in the cave and attacks them. During the confrontation, older Superman explains that he is the future version of Superman there to stop him from doing something that will result in him killing everyone he knows and ending up alone.
Batman confirms that the doppelganger is in fact telling the truth and rushes to get the kryptonite ring. Future Superman attacks Batman and throws him into one of the Batmobiles and then threatens to drop the car on him. Superman fires Metallo's bullet from a shotgun at Future Superman. He disappears with a warning ("Beware...") before the bullet can strike.
In D.C., Luthor prepares to address the nation. Captain Atom once again requests to talk to Superman, which Luthor denies. Luthor goes on TV and informs the public that the meteor is coming and that Superman is responsible for bringing it here. He then offers a bounty of $1 billion dollars for the capture of Superman so he can face the charges of crimes against humanity.

Synopsis for "No Fear"
This story is reprinted from Green Lantern (Volume 4) #2.
General Stone, from Edwards Air Force Base, arrives to reclaim the test jet. Jordan, as Green Lantern, asks about the extraterrestrial technology, but Stone declares it classified. Hal remembers that he lost his original test pilot job for punching Stone.
Meanwhile, John Stewart investigates the diner murders in connection with the abandoned spacecraft and informs Jordan. Hal returns home to his brother, Jim, who begs for Hal to leave Coast City and the Air Force behind. He declines. Jim leaves Coast City.
Hal returns to Edwards to talk to Shane Sellers. Sellers tells him that if he wants his old job, he'll need to apologize to General Stone. The truck with the mysterious cargo arrives at the base, then explodes, with a damaged Manhunter Robot emerging. Hal quickly changes into Green Lantern and engages the robot in battle. During the battle, he is knocked into a hanger, where he sees Abin Sur's ship has been rebuilt. Just then, the robotic humanoid figure appears and declares the Manhunter Robot obsolete. The skin melts off the humanoid to reveal that it is a new and improved Manhunter Robot!

Synopsis for "Meet the Terrifics, Part 2"
This story is reprinted from The Terrifics #2.
Linnya Wazzo reveals that she has been stuck on a mammoth corpse floating in space since her childhood, stuck in a phantom form with only some space spiders for friends. Mr. Terrific suggests that they all leave immediately and grabs an antenna to assess, awakening the cadaver they are standing on and hurtling them into space. They return to Earth on the portal the Simon Stagg had previously opened. Linnya realizes that she can become corporeal again but her body causes explosions just from touching solid matter. Terrific tells her to remain in phantom form, fearing that her presence in the Dark Multiverse has permanently changed her physiology. He leaves the other heroes at Stagg's compound to investigate the message they received from Tom Strong but when he tries to fly away, he is mysteriously drawn back.
