I focused the time-screen on the homing device I built into the costume's Justice League Signal-- And sure enough, my costume has surfaced some 1,000 years in the future, on the site of Metropolis! But there's something very, very wrong... I've been to the future before... But it was nothing like this! I've never seen such devastation in all the times I've cracked the time-barrier! But according to that time-screen, civilization will be destroyed by a mysterious natural disaster... About a century in the future!

Superman #295 is an issue of the series Superman (Volume 1) with a cover date of January, 1976.
Synopsis for "Costume, Costume -- Who's Got the Costume?"
Superman loses his costume in a battle with "Father Time" and must travel 1,000 years into the future to fight for it with a caveman who has claimed it and who has all Superman's powers. At the end, Superman is returned to the 20th Century with his costume by "Father Time", who is revealed to be Xenofobe, a Green Lantern of the 30th Century. Xenofobe set up the super-battle in the future in order to generate enough energy so that he could restore the alternate futures of Earth that had been wiped out by the Time Trapper, an enemy of the Legion of Super-Heroes.

Notes
- Reprinted in Superman: Past and Future and Showcase Presents: The Great Disaster Featuring the Atomic Knights.
- According to the Green Lantern from the 30th century (Xenophobe) the Time Trapper engaged the Green Lantern Corps of that time and used their power rings energy to wipe out all futures of Earth-One except the Kamandi future.
- The Crisis on Infinite Earths: The Compendium states that Earth-295 was "revealed as a distinct parallel world in Superman (first series) #295" (sic) which is in conflict with Xenophobe's statement.
