Superman #321 is an issue of the series Superman (Volume 1) with a cover date of March, 1978.
Synopsis for "Too Strong to Survive!"
Superman goes totally ballistic, almost killing a soldier and can only be calmed by Lois’ touch, but he accidentally hurts her also. He suddenly gets sensory overload, seeing and hearing everything all at once in the whole world, which almost drives him insane. Superman realizes what he has to do and flies back the the Fortress of Solitude and applies a ‘lotion’ that will sap his powers from the Sun. In his dream, his subconscious tells him that the Parasite is responsible for his present condition, after Superman got a glimpse of the villain during his sensory overload. Superman confronts the Parasite, where he learns that the Parasite is planning to use the LDS (Laser Defense System) to destroy Metropolis, unless he is paid 1 billion dollars. The Parasite siphoned the knowledge from the LDS’ inventor and because Superman destroyed the control panel back in Mooney Island, the tampered test run cannot be stopped from there. The Parasite leaves Superman behind, who has a sudden lapse in his powers.
