Synopsis for "Visions of Grandeur"
Luthor's scientists keep Brainiac in a comatose, dreaming state so they can analyze his psionic powers. After an overdose of hallucinogenic drugs, Brainiac's mind breaks free from its human shell, but the body loses all vital signs. The doctors try to resurrect him, but is Brainiac himself, in his astral form, that restores his body's bio-rhythms. Free from the induced hallucinations, Brainiac escapes in his astral form to continue his schemes before more hallucinogenic drugs are administered to him.

Synopsis for "The Racer's Edge"
After his heart-attack, Morgan Edge is prepped for surgery. Morgan's consciousness is transferred to "a place of neither life, nor death", where he sees the Black Racer, Metron, and Darkseid, impersonated by Desaad. Meanwhile, an Intergang killer is posing as a medic to kill Morgan. Right before injecting the lethal drug, the Black Racer appears in front of the killer and takes his life, saving Morgan.
