Superman (Volume 2) #52 is an issue of the series Superman (Volume 2) with a cover date of February, 1991.
Synopsis for "The Name, Pardners, is Terra-Man"
Tobias Manning -a.k.a. Terra-Man- attacks a LexCorp landfill and cleans it from its radioactivity. But in doing so, he risks the lives of various employees. Superman, who, as Clark Kent, received a tip from Lois at the scene, arrives at the landfill and manages to save most of the endangered employees, but, unfortunately, one of them dies.
Back in the Daily Planet, Lois and Clark investigate Tobias Manning's backstory. They find Manning was responsible for building the chemical plant at Lookout Peak, but he was the only one indicted and sentenced to prison for the chemical spills caused by that factory. Lois determines that the deserted Lookout Peak is Manning's hideout, but Clark warns her not to do anything dangerous.
However, she ignores his warnings and, borrowing a hazard suit from LexCorp, enters the ghost town. Superman follows her trail and saves her before one of Terra-Man's robots could kidnap her. Manning shows up and tells Superman that what he's doing in that town is important and will help rid the radioactivity present in that area. After his deed is done, he'll turn himself to the authorities. Superman is reluctant at first, but after putting Lois at a safe distance, he agrees to help Manning. As promised, Terra-Man turns to the authorities, and the town of Lookout Peak is free of radioactivity again.
