Superman (Volume 2) with a cover date of February, 1994.
Synopsis for "The Last Sun Devil"
Lost in space, Superman comes across a large damaged ship. The ship is manned by a Sauroid named Kerrt, and the only other surviving crew member is his feeble grandfather. They are being chased by space pirates who want to steal its cargo: a large collection of artwork. Superman hits the pirate's vessel with some heat vision scaring them off. He then fixes a leak on the damaged ship, enters an airlock and meets Kerrt.
After showing Superman the artwork, the pirates return and attack the ship. Superman heads out to face them, but they use a transporter beam to trap him, phased, on their ship. Captured, the Man of Steel finds the attacker is Rik Sunn, former leader of the Sun Devils. Following an obsessive quest to find the war criminal Karvus Khun (Kerrt's grandfather), he is responsible for the damage to Kerrt's ship.
Meanwhile back in Metropolis, Lois sneaks into the Luthor's gym, and breaks open Sasha Green's locker. In it she finds her gym back, which means that she never left the gym alive on the morning she died. Lois plans to run background checks on all Lexcorp employees, including Lex Luthor.
Rik Sunn boards Kerrt's ship and begins looking for Khun. Even while phased Superman can still hear and see. He figures out that he can still use his heat vision, and uses it to melt the transportation console, completing the transport and making him whole again. He re-enters Kerrt's ship in search of answers.
However Superman is too late, Rik Sunn has already killed Kerrt, and is trying to get the dying Khun to recognize him, but to no avail. Overcome with grief about the loss he has suffered and his obsession with finding Khun, he activates a bomb. Superman grabs Sarique and quickly flies her back to her ship and then hauls it far from the blast that destroys the other ship.
