Superman (Volume 3) #20 is an issue of the series Superman (Volume 3) with a cover date of July, 2013.

Synopsis for "Wham!"

Clark is having breakfast on his apartment with his parents, his wife Lana Lang and their puppy Krypto. Suddenly, a giant fist destroys the building and lands a heavy blow on Clark. Suddenly, Clark regains his senses and finds himself in combat with Orion. Realizing he was only having a dream, Superman counterattacks and Orion is astonished that someone is actually matching him in strength.

Orion picks up an aircraft carrier to slam Superman, but the Man of Steel uses his heat vision to melt part of the ship, temporarily burying the New God in molten metal. Then, Wonder Woman arrives to help Superman fight his opponent but is surprised that the enemy is Orion. Reacquainting, the three fighters have a brief moment of peace and Orion explains his reasons to believe Superman is a threat to the universe. Apparently, Hector Hammond is hiding within Superman's mind.

Wonder Woman uses her lasso to find Hammond and Orion's suspicions prove to be correct. The lasso banishes Hammond back to his own body while Orion's Mother Box erases any memory or fact Hammond might have learned inside Superman's mind. Also, the Mother Box installs mental walls inside Superman to prevent another telepath from controlling him.

Shortly afterwards, Orion asks Diana if she is willing to talk about the kiss they shared, but Diana refuses. Orion takes his leave, but not before apologizing to Superman for his attack. Wonder Woman tries to explain to Superman about how she met Orion, but Superman replies that she does not have anything to explain. They share a hug, but Superman cannot shake the feeling that Hammond might have done some damage to his memories before he was extracted. Still, he shrugs it off.

Meanwhile, in the deepest cofines of Superman's mind, Lana Lang finds herself walking amongst the smoking ruin that was their apartment building. Grey and cracked like a corpse, Lana calls out for her husband, who is nowhere to be found.
