Synopsis for "Imperius Lex, Part 3: World of Flame"
Superman and Lex attempt to escape from the oppressed Apokoliptians who want Superman to take Darkseid's throne as their leader. Superman insists he is no one god's and berates Lex for bringing him to Apokolips just to save his family. The Apokoliptians use one of their boom helmets on Superman in order to incapacitate him, but Lex is able to free Superman and hide deep within the city below Darkseid's castle.
Elsewhere, Superboy hides in a rocky canyon until he stumbles upon the same group of soldiers who tried to capture him earlier. The soldiers are attempt to overthrow Kalibak and but do not have enough food to sustain themselves, a situation that forced the soldiers to eat their own Hunger Dogs as a means to survive. Superboy quickly forces the soldiers to run away and releases the Hunger Dogs from slavery, earning their loyalty.
Superman is still angry that Lex brought him to Apokolips against his will, but Lex argues that the people of Apokolips need him because Superman's symbol means hope for them, as well. Unfortunately, Kalibak ambushes Superman and Lex and captures them for his plans. Ever since Darkseid died, Kalibak has been using his father's Chaos Cannon in an effort to reach Apokolips' core, thinking Darkseid is there. Kalibak thinks Superman and Lex can be useful in helping him find Darkseid. Suddenly, the Female Furies arrive and attack Kalibak's army; while Lois, who has been accepted as one of the Furies, frees Superman from captivity.
Kalibak activates the Chaos Cannon, which shoots an energy beam into Apokolips' core and shuts down all the fire pits across the planet. Superboy, hoping to save his parents, leads his pack of Hunger Dogs into battle against Kalibak and Granny Goodness.
