Synopsis for "Son of Superman, Part Four"
Superman fights the Eradicator while Lois and Jon run for safety. Lois is mildly injured by some debris and asks Jon to help his father. Jon is reluctant to use his powers after what happened to Goldie, but Lois replies that Jon has the best of both worlds within him and he has the opportunity to do the right thing. Inspired, Jon puts on his Superboy outfit and goes out to help Superman. A combined hit from Superman and Superboy breaks the Eradicator's outer shell, releasing the Kryptonian souls he has captured. This causes a massive explosion that surrounds the Fortress.
Meanwhile, in the Ace O' Clubs bar in Metropolis, Bibbo Bibbowski is arm-wrestling a patron for a space rock. After some effort, Bibbo wins and decides to put the rock in his Superman collection. Suddenly, Superman and his family are suddenly teleported into the bar, along with the Kryptonian souls freed from the Eradicator. The rock starts to weaken Superman and Superboy. Lois realizes the rock has a trace of Kryptonite inside and goes out to retrieve it while the Kryptonian spirits start possessing everyone in the vicinity. Upon seeing the rock, the spirits are shocked to discover Krypton is no more and become unstable, forcing Bibbo to throw the rock out of a window.
Superman has a vision of his father, Jonathan, inspiring to take care of his family. This mental tranquility allows Superman to harmonize with the spirits and give them comfort over Krypton's destruction. Unfortunately, the Eradicator arrives and attempts to absorb the Kryptonian spirits, along with Jon, to revitalize his own power. Superman grabs his family and attempts to save them from the Eradicator. To help Superman, the spirits sacrifice themselves by allowing themselves to be assimilated by the Eradicator, all at once. The excessive lifeforce he assimilated overloads the Eradicator's systems and throws him into the Metropolis harbor.
With the Eradicator incapacitated for the moment, Superman puts Lois and Jon inside a fully equipped submersible and flies them to the moon. Bibbo realizes Superman has a plan.
