Synopsis for "Truth, Part Two"

Clark, Lois, Jimmy and Perry gather in Perry's office and discuss what will happen to the Daily Planet now that entire world knows that Clark Kent and Superman are one and the same. Lois believes nothing will change; the entire world knew Superman was somehow connected to the Daily Planet and if anyone wanted to tell something to Superman, they just needed to come to the Daily Planet. Perry tells Clark the hard truth: he must fire Clark from the Daily Planet, lest the insurance company will stop covering the newspaper. Lois opposes this, saying that journalists have published news under pseudonyms for years, but Perry replies that Clark has placed the Daily Planet in a difficult situation. That said, Perry would like to hire Superman for the Daily Planet.

Perry says that Superman can be an asset to the Daily Planet by serving as some sort of advertising mascot, not to mention that Clark's writing skills are too valuable to be wasted and he can write under whatever name he desires. Even so, the Daily Planet can no longer quote Superman as a separate source. Perry also offers Clark and Lois an office next to his own, but Clark chooses to remain in his cubicle.

As Clark and Lois leave the office, they come face to face with the entire bullpen. The first person to talk to them is Trish Q, who hugs Clark and thanks him for saving her life a few weeks ago. She reveals she held onto the photo of Lois kissing Superman in full public view but didn't publish it and now, she is glad she didn't, because it means she is a good friend to Clark. More people begin to hug Clark and congratulate him for his choice.

As Superman flies across Metropolis, he is glad to learn that the world has embraced the reveal of his secret identity. People all over the streets are clapping for him and cheering for him. Even so, the hard part is about to begin, as Superman enters the Hall of Justice and is greeted by the entire of Justice League, the only people Superman believes can tell him the real truth.

Sometime later, the United Planets attempt to terraform and colonize an uninhabited planet, which the galactic leaders believe can serve as the United Planets' first base. Suddenly, the United Planets' fleet is attacked by Mongul, who is outraged by the decimation of his kingdom and has come for revenge. Superman arrives and attempts to help the United Planets contain Mongul, but the galactic leaders have trouble working together and their combined attacks end up hitting both Superman and Mongul. Calling the galactic leaders hypocrites for their fake unity, Mongul beats Superman into the ground and continues his attack.
