Synopsis for "Superman's Truth: Part Four"

Superman's battle with Mongul has thrown both fighters into the mountains of planet Gorfo. As Mongul attempts to stand back up, Superman tells him to admit defeat and go home, but Mongul refuses, saying that he is close to achieving his goal. Superman says that Mongul's culture has a blood oath, and according to it, Mongul has to obey the person who saved his life: Superman himself. Mongul thinks that Superman is saving him from death at the hands of Superman himself, but Superman explains that he is saving Mongul from the United Planets.

Fourteen minutes ago, the United Planets were concentrating all their attacks on Mongul, even when Superman asking them to stop, as they were doing exactly as Mongul wanted. Mongul, unaffected by the United Planets' weapons, resumes his attack and begins killing everyone he can see. Superman recovers and attempts to push Mongul away from the battlefield. Their fight takes them across the star system and they eventually land on Gorfo.

Meanwhile on Chicago, Bethany Snow continues asking Lois about Superman's decision to become king of the Earth and if this had to do something with his decision to reveal his secret identity. Lois attempts to close the door on Bethany but ultimately chooses to defend herself, saying that Superman is not there to actually comment and that he doesn't even think of himself as leader of the Justice League, so Bethany's characterization of Superman doesn't make sense. She even criticizes Bethany's cameraman, Andy, for resorting to ambush journalism even when he won two Emmys, but she does admit he has a point when he says that Emmys won't pay rent.

Lois asks Bethany to have some professional courtesy, which Bethany finds hypocritical, considering the advantages Clark and Lois had over other journalists in the past. Bethany angrily ends the interview and walks away, leaving Andy to talk to Lois. Andy, having known Lois for years, says that the Daily Star doesn't know who gave them the video about Superman declaring himself king of the Earth and S.T.A.R. Labs won't help them trace the source. While he feels uncomfortable with Bethany's actions, Andy does say that Clark shouldn't go around talking like that. When Lois asks to watch the video, Andy says he has no permission to share it. As Lois returns to her apartment, she suddenly thinks that if Clark is king of the Earth, she will be queen. She quickly removes that thought from her mind and decides to call a lawyer.

Back on Gorfo, Mongul has refused Superman's mercy, but instead of continuing the battle, he chooses to withdraw, feeling he has accomplished what he intended to do. Using his telescopic vision, Superman watches the United Planets ships firing on each other. Mongul wanted to spread chaos and fear across the United Planets' ranks and discourage them from uniting ever again. As Mongul departs, Superman returns to space and stops the fighting.

With the battle finished, the Justice League arrives to help the United Planets recover their dead and treat their injured. Superman is disappointed that the United Planets' initial formation didn't go as planned and he wouldn't be surprised if the United Planets disbanded, but his fellow superheroes say otherwise: Mongul's attack has made them realize that the United Planets are more necessary than ever if the galaxy is to confront tyrants like Mongul.

The Justice League chooses to remind behind, helping the United Planets recover, while Superman returns home, hoping to find some peace and tranquility. Unfortunately, the Warworld approaches Earth and Superman realizes Mongul also intended to draw Superman away from Earth.

Meanwhile, Lois returns to Metropolis and attempts to enter the Daily Planet until she stumbles upon FBI agent Cameron Chase, who wants to talk to Superman, the self-proclaimed king of the Earth.
