Superman finds himself locked in single combat with Eisno Alkor, warrior of the Synmar. Superman attempts to communicate with Eisno, even opening his mind to set up a telepathic connection, but Eisno continues to attack him and pushes him towards the Daily Planet and Superman can only wonder why is the engimatic alien trying to destroy him.

Yesterday in Metropolis, Lois feels tired after a long day's work, so she goes to her room to get some sleep. There, she finds Superman on her bed, waiting for her. He tells her about what he talked with Doctor Fate and that he came to the conclusion that both and Lois were feeling stressed because of everything that's happened to them lately and that's what motivated him to speak his truth. Superman also says that the reason he's never felt as stressed as he could have was because Lois is always shouldering half his burdens.

Husband and wife share a kiss, but unfortunately, their time together is cut short when Kelex enters the Kent apartment and asks Superman to come to the Fortress of Solitude. As Superman reaches the Fortress, Kelex informs him that a mysterious object is heading towards Earth and its estimated time of arrival is fourteen hours. Superman tells Kelex to keep him updated about the object and goes on to awaken Jimmy, who was allowed by Superman to sleep at the Fortress. Jimmy thanks Superman for letting him stay the Fortress, but still finds himself unable to refer to Superman as "Clark."

Clark takes Jimmy back to the Daily Planet, hoping to have a good day of work, until they stumble upon Steve Lombard working on a story. Since Clark never really had a chance to talk to Steve after speaking his truth, he decides now would be as good a time as any for them to talk. Clark apologizes for putting Steve and the rest of the Daily Planet crew in an impossible situation and Steve admits that he doesn't feel safe anymore now that world knows that Superman and Clark Kent are one of the same and feels that the Daily Planet has become a target.

Jimmy says that the Daily Planet has always been target, but Steve replies that Superman's truth has put them in even greater danger than before. Clark says that the Justice League has installed special technology to fortify the Daily Planet in case of emergency. This is the same technology used to protect the Hall of Justice and it was upgraded after Leviathan's attack. Suddenly, Clark gets a message from Kelex, who informs him that the UFO has changed course and is now heading towards the Daily Planet. Clark realizes the UFO is specifically targeting him, so he puts on his Superman uniforms and heads off into space, hoping to intercept it before it reaches Earth.

Superman manages to find the object, discovering it to be a spacecraft of unidentified design. The ship's cockpit opens, revealing its sole occupant to be Eisno Alkor of the Synmar. Superman is amazed to find a member of a completely new species and wonders if he is connected to the United Planets. Suddenly, Eisno grabs Superman and flies towards Earth on a collision course towards the Daily Planet, ignoring Superman's attempts to communicate with him. Superman orders Kelex to open a portal to the Phantom Zone, causing both combatants to disappear from the face of the Earth.

In the present, Superman and Eisno find themselves trapped within the Phantom Zone thanks to a special protocol Superman had installed in order to protect the Daily Planet. Superman thinks that, unless this whole situation is a huge misunderstanding, the mysterious alien has come to destroy him and his world. Superman tries to talk to the alien in any language he can think of, including Kryptonian, but the alien continues to attack him and Superman is left to wonder why is this happening.
