Synopsis for "The One Who Fell, Part Two"

As Superman continues writing on his journal, he explains that that the more he learns about the multiverse and its mysteries, the more he realizes he knows nothing at all. There are things that surprise him and even scare him. His experience in Thakkram was no exception.

Superman and Superboy realize that Faldr has been infected by the Shadowbreed and Faldr attempts to infect them, as well. Kryptonian heat vision only serves to strengthen the Shadowbreed, so Jon detonates his heat vision in mid-air, which shocks the Shadowbreed-infectees long enough for the Kents to make a tactical withdrawal, but not before Superman promises to find a way to save the people of Thakkram.

Father and son return to Qarath O Bakkis, who explains to them that Faldr continued doing research on the Shadowbreed, as he believed that the Shadowbreed infesting the One Who Fell were merely a part of a larger force scattered across the stars. Faldr wanted to prepare if the Shadowbreed attacked Thakkram again and built many devices in his life that could help them survive. Bakkis believes he could build a radiation bomb similar to the one used to defeat the Shadowbreed the first time, but time is running out. People are still gathered at the great temple, honoring Bakkis' father, and the Shadowbreed will use this opportunity to infect them, so Superman goes on to stop the Shadowbreed on his own while Superboy takes Bakkis to Faldr's lab.

As Superboy takes Bakkis to Faldr's lab, Bakkis asks Superboy how can he not be afraid of his own father and Superboy replies that the people of Earth refer to his father as "Superman" because he is the kindest, smartest and strongest person they could ever. For Superboy, however, "Superman" isn't just a title that can be just passed down or inherited. For Superboy, his father will always be Superman and he can never be replaced.

Superman reaches the temple built in Daanim's honor and begs the people of Thakkram to break free from the Shadowbreed's hold, but the Shadowbreed has already taken full control of the people and speak through them, saying that the Shadowbreed is older than even the Kryptonian species and they will continue to spread across the stars. Superman promises to free the people of Thakkram and the Shadowbreed dares him to try, as the infectees suddenly jump off the cliff beneath which the One Who Fell's corpse remains. Superman attempts to save as many as he can, but the Shadowbreed attempts to infect him as well, with only his thoughts about his son keeping Superman's will strong.

Superboy and Bakkis reach Faldr's lab, where Superboy learns a terrible truth: Bakkis has been working with the Shadowbreed this entire time and the device to stop the Shadowbreed doesn't actually exist. All this time, Bakkis has been leading the Kryptonians into a trap. Superboy escapes from the lab and tries to find his father, but the Shadowbreed has almost taken full control of Thakkram and suddenly, the One Who Fell rises from its chasm, ready to rampage yet again.
