Synopsis for "The Unity Saga, Part 6"
Superman and General Zod reluctantly work together to fight Rogol Zaar, who claims to have destroyed Krypton. As the battle rages on, Superman thinks back of a conversation he had with Lois. She was worried that Clark lived on an entirely different level of speed and that he had to "slow himself down" so that he could be with her. Clark assured her that was not the case, but he did admit that it was worrying to live in a speed of motion all by himself. Nevertheless, everyone makes decisions regarding the course of their lives, and right now, Superman needs to be as fast as he possibly he can if he is to survive.
Zod and Rogol move at incredible speeds and Superman pushes himself to his limits to keep up with them. He carefully observes Zod's actions and wonders what could have made Zod return to the Phantom Zone. If Rogol truly destroyed Krypton, then Zod must be looking for vengeance. Then again, there is the possibility that Rogol is harboring some deep secret about Krypton and Zod is trying to silence him. Superman even considers the possibility that Jor-El might have some sort of relationship with Rogol, the same way he was associated with Zod.
Superman believes that if Zod has his way with Rogol, he might lose the chance to find out what Rogol knows; but at the same time, Rogol might be too powerful for even Zod to defeat. And so, the Man of Steel moves into the offensive, shouting "For Kandor!" as he punches Rogol in the face. Superman's plan works; for a brief moment, Rogol briefly smiles and Zod realizes that Rogol destroyed Kandor as well.
Before the fight can continue, however, Superman is unexpectedly pulled out of the Phantom Zone by the Atom and he finds himself in S.T.A.R Labs. The Atom explains that the intelligence from S.T.A.R. Labs allowed the heroes of Earth to pinpoint Superman's exact location and pull him out of the Phantom Zone. Superman asks the Atom to return him to the Phantom Zone, but suddenly, the Martian Manhunter asks for Superman's assistance. Even after the Earth was pulled out of the Phantom Zone, many disasters have broken out all over the world. More than ever, Superman is needed, and reluctantly, Superman agrees to stay.
Back in the Phantom Zone, Rogol defeats Zod as the prisoners watch and shout Rogol's name. With his enemy defeated, Rogol once again claims leadership over the Phantom Zone's criminals and, as he drags Zod's weakened body through the wasteland, says they will fight together from now on.
Several days pass on Earth and Superman works to maintain peace and stability all over the world. Even so, Superman cannot stop thinking about his father and what other secrets he might hide. As he flies across Metropolis, Superman finds a teenager calling him "Dad". It's Jon and he has returned from his journey. Superman cannot believe what his eyes are seeing and thinks that if this is a trick, then it must be a good one.
