Synopsis for "Chapter Two: The Night of the Parasite"

The horde of miniature Parasite clones ambushes Superman and almost completely drain his powers. Superman barely has enough strength to escape and leap to a nearby building and sees that the horde of Parasites have absorbed almost all of the power in Metropolis.

Meanwhile, a secret order of mad scientists observes the Parasites' attack from their base of operations. One of the scientists disagrees with the decision of their leader, Graft, to unleash the Parasites on Metropolis, thinking this will get them unwanted attention from Superman. Graft's brother, Dr. Pharm, whispers something to Graft's ear, something to which Graft agrees. He then tells the gathered scientists that Metropolis used to belong to them before Lex Luthor seized power and with Luthor incarcerated, they have a golden opportunity to take back control of the city. Their current plans include performing surgery on Bizarro, experimenting on Kryptonite and, most recently, unleashing the horde of Parasites that Superman is now fighting.

The Parasites attack the Supercorp building and the staff barely has enough time to escape while Mercy Graves uses her nanotechnological powers to hold the Parasites back. Superman freezes the Parasites with a his cold breath, just in time for Luthor to demand for Superman to release him from Stryker's Island. Lex thinks he can help Superman in stopping the Parasites, but Superman refuses to play Lex's game, knowing that Lex stands to benefit from the current crisis.

Superman has an alternative: turn the power back on over Supercorp, knowing that the Parasites won't be able to resist. Before he does that, however, he talks with Jonathan and Kara, who have already erected a wall of ice to keep the Parasites confined within Metropolis' limits. Most of the city has already been evacuated and the Superman Family wants to meet up with Superman, but the Man of Steel insists for Jon and Kara to stay back, lest they will be attacked by the Parasites. Unfortunately, the Daily Planet has been attacked and Jon doesn't know whether Lois is safe.

Superman rushes into the Daily Planet, where he comes across a gunslinger who shoots him with luminous bullets. She calls herself Marilyn Moonlight and she only gave Superman a warning shot. Superman attempts to grab Marilyn but his hand passes through her arm, like she was a ghost. Marilyn disappears in a beam of white light, which gives Superman a vision of an Old West town. As the moonlight dissipates, Superman realizes that Marilyn's bullets have recharged his powers.

Superman finally finds Lois and the Daily Planet's staff, only to discover they have been turned into ravenous Parasites themselves, thanks to a virus released into the air by the mutated Parasites. This virus also infects Superman, just as the Superman Family confronts the army of Parasites climbing the ice wall preventing them from leaving the city.
