Synopsis for "Immortal"
The Time Trapper reveals that he is from a future where Doomsday lived for millions of years, and his thousands of death and resurrections allowed him to evolve intelligence and the power to become the Time Trapper. He believes that if he were to "evolve" one more time he would be reborn as a god, but since his last death at the hands of the "Legion of Infinite Worlds", he has been unable to die. He came to the past to seek Superman's help in killing him one last time, but has apparently arrived too soon. He warns Superman that the worst horror he has ever faced is coming and he will be tested like never before. The Time Trapper teleports away into the future, telling Superman that the next time they meet Superman will either choose to help him or watch everyone he loves perish.
As a sign of goodwill, and to prove that they can achieve more working together, the Time Trapper gives Superman a few seconds before time resumes to get a head start in the fight with the current Doomsday. Superman flies around the world at top speed to gain momentum and punches Doomsday just as time resumes, creating a shockwave that rocks Metropolis. This only puts Doomsday down for a moment and Mercy tells Superman that she is activating "Project Deadbeat". Meanwhile John Henry and Natasha Irons evacuate the area around the fight and the amnesiac Lex Luthor rescues a boy who was separated from his mother.
Superman and Superwoman struggle to contain Doomsday until Mercy and a squad of Supercorp security arrive with Project Deadbeat: the Parasite. Parasite grabs onto Doomsday and begins draining him, but Doomsday breaks free and literally rips Parasite in half. Horrified and enraged, Superman furiously attacks Doomsday. Lena Luthor, who is monitoring Superman's condition, warns that his "red levels" are rising. Superman beats Doomsday into unconsciousness, but his eyes are glowing red and veins of red energy break out across his face. Lois yells at him that it is over and Superman returns to normal, but collapses with exhaustion. Superwoman picks him up and flies away while Supercorp sedate and restrain Doomsday.
That evening Jimmy calls Lois and complains that Supercorp is somehow editing all images and footage from the fight to hide Superwoman's face. Lois tells him that she has had a long day and they will talk tomorrow. After she hangs up she tells Clark, who appears pensive, that she is okay and understands the risks of being a superhero. He accepts this but tells her he will always worry about her. He then tells her about the Time Trapper's warning and wonders what could be worse than Doomsday. Meanwhile on the planet Calaton, a figure wearing a costume that resembles the containment suit Doomsday was wearing when he first came to Earth says that Doomsday has returned and it is time to take revenge.
