Super-Woman is a name used by several characters in the DC Universe as female versions of Superman. Primarily it is the alias used by a negative counterpart to Wonder Woman in the Crime Syndicate, evil counterparts to the Justice League. It has since been used in the mainstream for female counterparts to Superman, by his longtime allies Lucy Lane, Lois Lane and Lana Lang. The concept was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, first appearing in Action Comics #60. (1943)
