Swamp Thing encounters Abby Cable, learns of her marriage to the now-alcoholic Matt Cable, and is attacked by a powerful monster materialized from Matt's mind. Harry Kay, having wandered off, gets stuck in a bear trap and is retrieved by the occupant of a strange insect-ship-- Anton Arcane.

- This issue is reprinted in Swamp Thing: The Bronze Age Vol. 3.
- Matt and Abby had not seen or heard about Swamp Thing since Swamp Thing Vol 1 20, although Matt Cable was seen in the meantime in Showcase #94-96.
- On Page 4 Swamp Thing refers to finding a device that kept people away from Alec & Linda's grave and while a footnote said that would be explained in a forthcoming issue of DC Comics Presents, that story is never published, most likely because of the changes that occur in Swamp Thing Vol 1 21. Swamp Thing does appear in DC Comics Presents Vol 1 85 but that story has nothing to do with this issue.
