Swamp Thing (Volume 3) #20 is an issue of the series Swamp Thing (Volume 3) with a cover date of December, 2001.
Synopsis for "Saga"
After months of questing in Africa, Tefé Holland and Pilate discover the fabled Tree of Knowledge. Holland eats its fruit and is shown two possible futures. In one possible future, she saves humanity by eradicating disease, but at the expense of the Green, for unbridled humanity will go on to irrevocably harm the Green. In the other possible future she births a third generation of elemental in the form of an antichrist-like son. She and her son will save the Green by killing off the nearly all of humanity. Holland realizes that she can chose neither path because she has no right to decide the fate of the Green or humanity at the cost of the other. Thus, she decides to strive to bring a peace and balance between the Green and humanity.
