Synopsis for the 1st Story
Dr. James Thacker stands in disbelief at the sight of the hybrid child. Louis Simpson tells him it is his son, and future god that will take back what is rightfully his. He speaks in a foreign language to their Shaman. He tell the Shaman it was their destiny to come and bring back the child's breath with them. They believe the child will purge the world.
Kemp is pronounced dead by one of the locals. Frustrated with the situation Thacker rhetorically asks if Simpson has gone mad. After a tense standoff after threatening to kill the child, Thacker and Captain Jasper leave the camp without Simpson or the boy. On their return journey, Thacker begins to pass out from the exhaustion of his journey. A deer comes to him as he feels like he's about to die. Suddenly, a search party spots them and helps carry them back to safety.
After resting by campfire, Thacker proposes they return to their campsite and purge it of the evil that was brought into the world.
They journey back and surprise the locals. They murder everyone except Simpson and the child. They convince Simpson to lead the journey back to the cave where they could undo the wrath of the heavens. They throw the boy into the cave and take Simpson back to England with them. Thacker tells Simpson to never speak a word of what happened to anyone.
On their trip back, the crew came down with the sickness, person by person. Until only Thacker was left alive. In his final moments, he begins to worry about someone else being sent to find him and discovering the tomb.
